Job Title:  Graphic Designer  (12-month contract)

Function:  Reach Group - Packaging

 

Role Purpose

Reach Packaging is one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of customised and generic food-to-go packaging, catering disposables, branded bags, boxes, gift wrap, hygiene products and more to businesses throughout the country. Our customer base includes local coffee shops, take aways and fashion retailers as well as nationally recognised brands in both food, grocery and fashion.  

 

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer to join the Reach Group. This role focuses on producing high-quality, custom designs for Reach Packaging customers, while also supporting design needs for Reach Stationery and Newspread.

 

You’ll work closely with our sales team and customers to develop clear, effective design solutions that enhance our product range and deliver real value. We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled in traditional design tools but also open to exploring new technologies, including AI-assisted design tools, to improve efficiency and creativity.

 

This role is ideal for a forward-thinking designer whose collaborative, adaptable, and interested in finding smarter ways to work.

 

Role Responsibilities (Overview)

  • Collaborate with sales representatives to understand customer requirements and translate them into effective visual designs.

  • Interpret design briefs from the sales team or customers—or work from a blank canvas when needed—to produce compelling creative concepts.

  • Use customer-supplied marketing assets to develop custom designs that help secure sales orders.

  • Deliver innovative, on-brand design solutions that support new business development.

  • Understand the technical specifications for a wide range of packaging products (e.g., branded coffee cups, bags-for-life, food packaging) to ensure designs meet production requirements.

  • Provide ad hoc design support to the wider Reach Group Commercial team, including materials such as website banners, flyers, brochures, and event signage.

  • Manage project workflows, balancing priorities to meet deadlines and maintain high design standards.

  • Organize and maintain a design library to ensure easy access to creative assets for future use

 

Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, preferably in packaging, print, or marketing design.

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).

  • Excellent visual communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

  • Confidence working from minimal briefs or initial concepts.

  • Experience with forward-thinking design tools and techniques, including the use of AI-assisted tools

  • Knowledge of print production processes and packaging design is a strong advantage.

  • Advanced digital design skills with hands-on experience using a wide range of tools, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Adobe Premiere.

  • Fully conversant with the design and development process, including brainstorming, concept development, iteration, and final execution.

  • Proficient in PowerPoint, with the ability to design clean, professional presentations that support key messaging.

  • Adaptable and open to feedback, with a willingness to iterate and refine designs based on input.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all designs.
