Role Purpose

We’re looking for a Senior Account Executive to join our Agency & Key Client Sales team. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience in media sales or agency account management who is looking to take the next step in their career by working with Ireland’s largest news publisher.

You’ll support and grow a portfolio of Irish media agencies, helping them deliver results for clients through the full Mediahuis product suite, with a strong focus on Independent.ie premium digital formats, first‑party data solutions, branded content, and high‑impact cross‑platform campaigns.

This is a client‑facing role with plenty of autonomy, exposure to major brands, and the opportunity to learn from an experienced senior sales team.

 
 
 

Role Responsibilities (overview)

Sales, both reactive response to brief and proactive pitching to new business:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of agency accounts, building strong working relationships across planning and buying teams.

  • Respond to briefs with well thought out proposals that leverage Mediahuis’ full ecosystem.

  • Work towards quarterly and yearly revenue targets through proactive outreach, consistent pipeline management, and creative solution selling.

  • Monitor campaign performance and help agencies understand results, insights, and optimisation opportunities to drive repeat business.

Collaboration Across the Business:

  • Work closely with Ad Operations, Creative, Data & Insights, Editorial Partnerships, and Product teams to deliver smooth, effective campaigns.

  • Champion Mediahuis’ brands internally and externally, helping agencies understand the strength of Independent.ie, our national titles, and our uniquely strong regional footprint.

Market Knowledge & Commercial Awareness:

  • Stay informed on trends across digital advertising, audience behaviour, news media, and agency market dynamics.

  • Provide feedback to product and commercial leadership based on agency needs and competitive insights.

 
 
 

Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)

  • 1–3 years’ experience in an agency‑facing sales role, media sales team, or media agency planning/buying desk.

  • A naturally curious, commercially minded person who enjoys problem‑solving and finding smart ways to meet client needs.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills; confident speaking to planners and buyers.

  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

  • A collaborative team player who is eager to learn, grow, and build a long‑term sales career.
