Role Purpose
We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Video Editor (Maternity Cover) to join our audio team on a three-day-per-week basis. This role will play a key part in growing our podcasts’ reach and engagement across multiple digital platforms. The successful candidate will work with the Digital Content Producer in video editing, graphic design, and social media content creation, ensuring each podcast is represented through compelling, high-quality visuals and video clips that drive audience growth. The role requires someone with strong creative instincts, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of social media best practices — particularly within the fast-evolving podcast and digital content landscape.
Role Responsibilities (Overview)
Develop and execute social media and video content strategies aligned with each podcast’s brand and audience objectives.
Edit short-form and long-form video content to a high professional standard, optimised for each platform (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Identify and edit the best-performing clips from podcast episodes — moments that both promote the podcast and perform as standalone social content.
Design visually engaging graphics, thumbnails, and other assets in line with brand guidelines.
Manage scheduling, posting, and engagement across all social channels.
Monitor analytics and performance metrics across platforms to inform content planning and growth strategies.
Keep up to date with social media trends, audio/video consumption patterns, and emerging tools to maintain a fresh and competitive digital presence.
Collaborate closely with podcast hosts, producers, and the wider editorial and audience teams to ensure synergy between podcast content and social strategy.
Report regularly on performance, insights, and opportunities for audience development.
Other duties as required.
Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)
Proven experience in video editing, digital production, and social media management, ideally within podcasting, sports, or entertainment.
A portfolio that demonstrates strong storytelling, editing, and design capability.

Advanced video editing skills (Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
Strong design ability using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva.
Good understanding of social media analytics and performance tools.
Knowledge of digital publishing workflows and podcast distribution metrics.
Familiarity with copyright, libel, and relevant media legislation.
