Audio Researcher (Part Time) — Indo Sport podcast
This is a part time role (3 days a week) on a maternity cover contract.
Function: Publishing
Department: Editorial
Reporting to: Series Producer — Indo Sport
Role Purpose
As a researcher for the Indo Sport podcast, you will play an integral part in delivering high-quality and engaging content for our listeners, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the continued evolution of the show.
Role Responsibilities (Overview)
The researcher will work on all aspects of the Indo Sport podcast, primarily idea generation for episode topics and treatments, guest booking, sourcing relevant audio, preparatory notes, and editing.
They will write creative briefs and running orders to ensure hosts are well-informed.
Build and maintain strong relationships with contributors and hosts.
Stay ahead of the curve on the latest sports news, trends, and developments.
Contribute to shaping the narrative and ensure content aligns with the Mediahuis editorial standards.
Identify potential short form or social media content that will drive audiences to podcasts.
Provide assets to the Audience Team to ensure episodes are promoted across all our platforms.
Other duties as required.
Note: This role may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate the demands of a daily podcast production schedule.
Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)
Proven experience in sports journalism, preferably in a podcasting or broadcasting environment.
A genuine passion for sports and a comprehensive understanding of various sports disciplines, including women’s sports.
Technically proficient in Adobe Audition and/or other audio editing software

Adaptability to thrive in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
Technical
Working knowledge of audio-editing software, in particular Adobe Audition.
Good knowledge of Irish libel law and relevant legislation.
Familiarity with sports analytics and statistical tools is a plus.
Flexibility – a willingness to jump in and do what needs to be done.
